The following is included in the fee for care:

​Comprehensive, in-home prenatal care with licensed midwives beginning at 10 weeks. Licensed midwives are autonomous care providers, meaning you don't need to see an OB in addition to your midwife. Each visit lasts 30-60 minutes, allowing ample time to grow our midwife-client relationship

Counseling on nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being, remedies for common pregnancy discomforts, assessment of maternal and fetal well-being (blood pressure, urinalysis, fundal height measurement, assessing fetal heart tones, etc.)

Routine and non-routine lab collection, collected in-home (standard lab costs included in fee)

The Fresh Test option for glucose testing

Referrals for ultrasounds and OB consultations as needed

Emergency on-call availability throughout pregnancy

Comprehensive in-person childbirth education class

Care schedule as follows: monthly visits until 28 weeks, biweekly visits until 36 weeks, weekly visits until birth

Prenatal Care

Prenatal and Postpartum Care Only: $4,000
At Riverbend Midwifery, we offer in-home prenatal and postpartum-only care for families planning a hospital birth but seeking personalized, holistic support throughout their pregnancy and beyond. Our experienced midwives provide regular prenatal visits, monitoring the health of both mother and baby, offering guidance on nutrition and wellness, and assisting in the creation of a tailored birth plan that aligns with your preferences for labor and delivery at the hospital.

After birth, we continue to support you and your newborn with thorough postpartum care, including help with breastfeeding, emotional well-being, and physical recovery. Our midwives also provide newborn assessments, ensuring your baby’s health and growth are on track. With our caring approach, you’ll receive the attention and guidance you need to feel supported every step of the way.

Billing
For those with private insurance or self-pay: We are a self-pay practice. We are considered out-of-network providers with insurance and are not currently contracted with any insurance companies. For those with insurance, we can refer you to a biller who can submit a claim to your insurance.
A non-refundable retainer fee of $1000 is due at the initial prenatal visit and is included in the total cost of care. We offer payment plans, as well as discounts for those hiring a trained doula for birth and repeat families, and require the fee for care to be paid by your 36 week prenatal visit. If you have insurance, labs and ultrasounds are charged separately from our care package and are billed through your insurance. If you do not have insurance, standard lab fees are included in the care package and ultrasounds are charged separately. ​

For those with Medicaid: We are currently unable to accept any Medicaid plans. If you have Medicaid, we offer a discount of $2500 off of our total fee for care. Labs and ultrasounds are covered by Medicaid.
